Tasting Notes:
Like its partner, the Gamay, this Cabernet Franc has a bit of attitude: punchy flavours of blackcurrant, leafy tobacco notes with a soft, plush palate. The vineyards are in and around Muscadet, not an area known for this grape variety, but nonetheless, with this example it is extremely successful. The vines are planted on schist-based soils, giving the wine a notable gravelly texture, yet managing to retain freshness, fruit and varietal definition.
