Tasting Notes:
Bakobel is an old Hungarian name for “in between”'. This is also the name of a hillside location on Leithaberg in Jois, planted with Blaufränkisch in 1984. A cool, spicy Blaufränkisch grows here; It was developed partly in barriques, partly in steel. Plum-colored with aromas of ripe plums, some leather and sour cherries, salty, with smoky notes and velvety fruit - this is how it looks in the glass. This wine is in its first maturity, so it is really nice to drink now, but also later - and also a wonderful food companion. More complex than the Triebaumer Blaufränkisch classic, closer to the Blaufränkisch Reserve but unoaked. A different style and different climate.
